In the face of the pandemic, 45 sanitation workers wrote letters volunteering to join the fight!

“We voluntarily volunteer to join the front lines of the fight against the epidemic as sanitation workers and do our small part!” On January 28, in the face of the epidemic, 45 sanitation workers collectively wrote a “Letter of Voluntary Service,” ready to report to hospitals at any time to assist with cleaning and sanitation efforts.

Cao Yinxiu, 47, is a sanitation worker at the Hannan Branch of Shenzhen Longjishun Industrial Development Co., Ltd. With 12 years of experience in sanitation, she has consistently worked on the front lines of street cleaning and has participated in environmental support missions for numerous major events and competitions, including the World Flyers Convention and the Military World Games. Whether it was signing up for assignments or undergoing training, she has always been among the first to volunteer. She said that although she has extensive frontline sanitation experience, this assignment holds special significance. She and her colleagues, who are about to begin cleaning duties at the hospital, have long been mentally prepared for this task. This pandemic cannot be ignored; if it spreads, everyone will be a victim. She is certain that if she can help, she will do so without hesitation. Although her son initially strongly opposed the idea of his mother going to the hospital to work as a cleaner, he reluctantly agreed after she persuaded him, repeatedly urging her to take good care of herself.

Zhu Gexin, head of the Sanitation Section at the district’s Urban Management Bureau, explained that a total of 45 sanitation workers signed the pledge to volunteer that day. They were primarily from the Hannan Branch of Shenzhen Longjishun Industrial Development Co., Ltd. and Hubei Xinxingjie Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. Currently, the companies have provided systematic training for sanitation workers in areas such as personal protective equipment, sanitation work procedures, and virus disinfection to ensure that every sanitation worker can carry out their duties conscientiously, safely, and effectively.
